A proposal to provide P3,000 allowances to members of the TB Task Force was discussed during a hearing last Thursday, presided over by Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito, who chairs the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) committee on appropriations and finance.
Distrito went over the provisions for the allowance, indicating barangays would be responsible for overseeing the performance of their respective task force. Deliberations on the matter will take place before the SP following the drafting of a committee report.
The allocation will cost the city P1.5 million annually.
City Health Office (CHO) representatives discussed the decline of TB cases in the city, crediting the task force in the reduction of cases.
Earlier this year, the SP passed an ordinance increasing the monthly allowance for barangay health workers to P4,000./WDJ
