Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) Director, Atty. Helen Catalbas, projects, with Iloilo hosting meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit this month, both city and province will earn around P2 billion.
“We look at the meetings as having a multiplier effect,” she stated. “If our delegates, ministers, and senior officials like our place, they will promote it for investment and future visits.”
All sectors are bound to benefit from the meetings, Catalbas added.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Flor Villar opened the 22nd senior officials committee meeting for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) earlier this week at the Iloilo Convention Center./WDJ
