Based on the recent audit of job order casual employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental, Provincial Accountant Merle Fortu revealed, based on their data, violations were discovered.
“There were some violations of the internal process of release of their salaries,” she said. “The next step is to personally ask for the appearance of some of the employees who may be questionable.”
Fortu noted the provincial government of Negros Occidental has a total of 659 job order casuals on staff, and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) has the most at 138.
She added she is personally handling the OPA and has identified six employees whose documents “were in order.”
“The validity of their claims for salaries is based on the integrity of their supervisors and department heads,” Fortu explained.
Following OPA with the most job order casuals on staff were the Provincial Veterinarian with 92 and the Hospital Operations Department with 38.
In terms of Capitol-owned hospitals, Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital had the most at 59. Ignacio L. Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital followed with 34./WDJ
