The general manager of the Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) was arrested by police, yesterday afternoon.
Engineer Mario Macatangay was presented with an arrest warrant in his office for the crime of grave oral defamation, or slander, issued by Judge Abraham Bayona of the Bacolod City Municipal Trial Courts in Cities Branch 7.
The case was filed by former Baciwa general manager, Atty. Juliana Carbon, after Macatangay referred to her as a “scheming woman.”
Members of the media tried to get a reaction from the Baciwa general manager, however, he refused to give a statement.
Macatangay was later released after posting P6,000 bail./WDJ
