Three people were arrested in separate drug raids carried out by members of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangays Banago and 27, yesterday morning.
Police identified the suspects as 31-year-old Joel Oro, a resident of Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Banago; Jimcarl Macaya, 19, of Purok 3, Magsungay, Barangay Singcang; and Caroline Benal, a resident of Barangay 27.
In the first raid, carried out by Police Station 3 (PS3), Oro and Macaya were arrested after handing one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative.
PS3 commander, Police Senior Inspector Larry Teovisio, said they recovered an additional three sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects, drug money, and the P200 marked money.
This was followed a few hours later by another buy-bust operation in Barangay 27, which resulted to the arrest of Benal.
Police recovered one sachet of suspected shabu from Benal, as well as P290 worth of suspected drug money.
All three suspects are facing charges in violation of RA 9165, or the comprehensive dangerous drugs act of 2002, and are presently detained at PS3./
