The son of former Pontevedra Vice Mayor Larry Parroco was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) in Barangay Buenavista Gibong, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, Saturday afternoon.
PDEA agents identified the suspect as Aliguerre Parroco, who currently works for the Pontevedra mayor’s office.
PDEA-NIR Director, Atty. Roselyn Borja, said the operation was conducted after receiving a tip the suspect was allegedly conducting an illicit drug business.
Borja said Parroco previously surrendered under Oplan: Tokhang last year.
Agents recovered around 0.5 grams of shabu from Parroco, worth about P2,000.
Parroco faces illegal drugs charges and is detained at the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station./WDJ
