As confirmed by Department of the Interior and Local Government-Region VI (DILG-6) Director, Atty. Anthony Nuyda, the Regional Peace and Order Council-Region VI (RPOC-6) recently passed a resolution urging President Rodrigo Duterte to allow the Philippine National Police (PNP) to actively participate in anti-drug operations.
RPOC-6 is requesting PNP units in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo to work with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region VI (PDEA-6).
The agency believes their combined efforts can boost the anti-drug campaign that was once spearheaded by units of the Police Regional Office-Region VI (PRO-6).
Duterte previously ordered the PNP to stop all anti-drug operations while ordering the PDEA to take the lead./WDJ
