Two congressional representatives from Iloilo province expressed support for House Bill No. 4727, or the Death Penalty Bill.
Both Reps. Arthur Defensor, Jr. and Raul Tupas voted in favor of the passage on the second reading, last Wednesday.
The Death Penalty Bill is expected to pass next week after previously being deferred after the House of Representatives said it was “untimely” for the start of the Lenten season.
According to Majority Leader Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas, the third reading, which is expected to be conducted as a formality, will take place on Tuesday, March 7./WDJ
