The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) selected Bacolod City as one of five focus areas for their national security and defense study. The other areas include Samar, Leyte, Cebu, and Negros Oriental.

According to NDCP President Roberto Estioko, the study provides NDCP students the opportunity to interact with key institutions associated with development and national security, including identifying critical challenges and strategic prospects.
NDCP officials and students paid a courtesy call on Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia at the Bacolod City Government Center, yesterday, and conducted a briefing with city officials and executives./WDJ
