Through a joint effort between the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the city government of Bacolod, around 45 personnel from the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) and the Traffic Management Unit participated in a two-day deputation seminar, from March 2 to 3 at Ting-ting’s Restaurant.
Bacolod LTO acting chief Renato Novero, provincial head of the Negros Occidental LTO Enforcement Unit, said there were 15 participants from TMU and 30 from BTAO.
The seminar was limited to college-level or college graduates, and only those who have passed the practical and written examinations conducted by the LTO after the seminar can be deputized member of the LTO.
Topics of the seminar included “traffic values,” LTO history, and the legal basis for deputation.
According to Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II of LTO-6, the deputized enforcers will be expected to enforce Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code./WDJ
