The Akari Power Chargers continued their impressive resurgence in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference after taking down powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers, 25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21, at the Playtime FilOil Centre in San Juan City on Thursday, March 12.

Negrense Christine Joy Soyud tallied 15 points, including 14 attacks, as the Power Chargers secured their fourth straight victory after opening the conference with three straight losses for a 4-3 mark.

Ivy Lacsina top-scored for the Power Chargers with 20 points, Gretchel Soltones added 14, while Justine Jazareno anchored the defense with 22 excellent digs and eight excellent receptions to be named Player of the Game.

The Power Chargers showed composure in the tight second set before regaining control in the fourth to seal the match and sustain its winning momentum.

Jessica Galanza led for the Cool Smashers with 16 points, while Diana Carlos added 10 markers as they saw their five-game winning run snapped to drop to a 5-2 record.

Meanwhile, the Nxled Chameleons halted a four-match losing streak after overcoming the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 20-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-19.

Chiara Permentilla delivered key points down the stretch in the fourth set, scoring three of Nxled’s last five markers, including the match-clinching hit that pierced through two defenders.

“This game is very important. This conference is very unpredictable. There’s no undefeated team right now, so every point matters. I’m very proud of my team to be able to lock in, focus and bounce back,” Brooke Van Sickle said.

She produced a triple-double performance with 20 points, 12 excellent receptions and 10 digs to lead the Chameleons (4-4), while Jonah Sabete-Escamillan and MarJana Phillips added 19 and 12, respectively.

Despite the loss, ZUS Coffee (1-7) had several contributors offensively.

Thea Gagate led the Thunderbelles with 16 points, Cess Robles scored 13 and Jovelyn Gonzaga finished with 11 markers./ASC, WDJ
