Biñan routs Bacolod, keeps hopes alive

The Biñan Tatak Gel Beast Motorcycle Tires GameX Mega Win routed Bacolod Masskara, 128-74, on Thursday, March 12, and boosted its playoff drive in the 2026 MPBL Preseason Invitational at One Arena, Cainta in Rizal province.

Biñan led from the start and never eased up to close out their campaign in the Group A round-robin elimination phase with a five-win and three-loss record, the same card as the Mindoro Tamaraws, and ahead of the Gensan Warriors (5-2) in the race for the third and last playoff slot in the nine-team group.

Bam Lopez posted 18 points, four assists and three rebounds.

Former University of Santo Tomas Glowing Goldies star Nic Cabanero tallied 17 points, five rebounds and four assists to clinch the best player honors.

Jeymark Mallari also delivered for Biñan with 16 points, four assists and two rebounds.

Jopet Soriano tallied 12 points and eight rebounds.

Bacolod tumbled to 1-6 despite the 20-point, three-assist and two-rebound effort of Rev Diputado, the 11-point and two-rebound output of Jameson Hiro, and the 10-point, two-rebound and two-assist contribution of Jeremy Cruz./ASC, WDJ
