Dancers from Negros Occidental’s San Carlos City turned in an impressive showing at the 3rd JJ Open Latin Dancesport Championship, bringing home a collection of titles and finalist finishes across juvenile, youth and junior categories.
Aldhry Jain bannered the city’s campaign after winning the Juvenile Duo C championship.
He also placed fourth in the Juvenile Solo Cha-cha-cha and finished fifth in both the Juvenile Solo Paso Doble and Jive events.
Sandrei Gaff Cena and Prince Zion Baldomar advanced to the Top 6 finals in Samba and Cha-cha-cha, while also reaching the quarterfinals in Juvenile C and Juvenile A.
JC Immanuel Lorimas and Kesha Joel Jain likewise cracked the Top 6 in Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive.
Strong performances were also registered by Nina Geacie Nalzaro and Kirk Leigh Kyamko, who reached the quarterfinals in Youth C and Rising Stars.
In solo events, Jade Bryan Boque and Jarl Michael Cabuguas made the quarterfinals of Juvenile Solo C, while Jashend Vennice Lapitan advanced to the semifinals.
Gavin Brylle Quezon qualified for Round 3, and Ancheska Icah Abadies reached Round 2 in the same division.
In partnered competitions, Lapitan and Boque finished as semifinalists in Juvenile A, while Quezon and Lapitan advanced to the quarterfinals in Juvenile C.
Jin Yuri Lim and Shin Alizey Apurado also reached the quarterfinals in the Junior C category.
