Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts standout Paul Adrian Barcelona credited teamwork and preparation for their championship victory in the Iloilo 1st Governor’s National Cup, saying the title reflected the squad’s unity from start to finish.
“I feel very happy with this championship because of how my team stuck together from start to finish,” Barcelona said after the Thunderbolts defeated Parola Panaon Misamis in the finals at the Iloilo Sports Complex.
“I just did what I was supposed to do and, fortunately, I was able to deliver during the championship game, which earned me the finals MVP,” he added.
Barcelona also underscored the value of the tournament as part of their buildup for bigger challenges ahead, noting that the competition served as timely preparation for their next major assignment.
“This championship is also a good preparation for us as we head into the upcoming NIRAA Meet, which is an important step toward achieving our goal of qualifying for the Palarong Pambansa,” he added.
