Police authorities in Silay City reported three separate incidents on Sunday, December 21, including the discovery of a dead man inside his home and two fatal road accidents in different barangays.
At around 4:12 p.m., personnel of the Silay police found a dead body, a 57-year-old male, lying on his bed with bloodstains inside his residence on Matagoy Street in Barangay Rizal.
Information from the victim’s live-in partner revealed that the man had been suffering from liver cirrhosis.
Police said the body was already in a state of decomposition when found.
The remains were later brought to a funeral home for proper disposition.
Authorities did not indicate any foul play and noted that further evaluation would determine the cause of death.
Also on Sunday, at around 2:00 p.m., a 38-year-old male died after he lost control of his motorcycle at Hacienda Gamboa in Barangay Guimbala-on.
Initial police investigation showed that the motorcycle was traveling from Barangay Patag toward Silay City proper when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit a cemented wall, and fell into a cemented ditch.
Police said the motorcycle had no plate number.
The victim also had no driver’s license.
He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) but was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, another vehicular incident occurred at 11:35 p.m. along Rizal Highway, Barangay Mambulac, involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
Police said a motorcycle, driven by a 59-year-old male from Talisay City, was traveling from Silay City proper toward Talisay City when it accidentally hit a 45-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the road.
The motorcycle driver was reportedly not wearing a helmet and was using an expired driver’s license, with no available certificate of registration for the vehicle.
Both the driver and the pedestrian were thrown onto the cemented road and sustained injuries.
They were immediately brought to TLJPH for medical treatment.
The motorcycle was later impounded by police./CJ, WDJ
