Police are investigating the discovery of a decomposing male body found inside a parked vehicle at Barangay Efigenio Lizares in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City on Tuesday afternoon, December 2.

Investigators said the vehicle owner — a martial arts instructor and resident of Palm State, Futura Homes Subdivision — reported a foul odor coming from his car.

He also noticed flies swarming around the vehicle, prompting him to open it, police said.

He discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified male on the driver’s seat, already in an advanced state of decomposition.

The vehicle owner told police he had no knowledge of the victim’s identity and had no idea how the man ended up inside his car.

Talisay police immediately secured the area and requested the Scene of the Crime Operatives to conduct full crime scene processing.

According to the police, the car is not of use anymore.

“Hindi naman masyadong ginagamit ito kasi dalawa naman ang sasakyan ng owner,” Talisay police deputy chief Major Rahzl Jim Jocson said.

They suggest that the man could have possibly tried to take the car.

“Baka hindi niya alam kung paano makalabas,” Jocson added.

Authorities are now working to determine the victim’s identity and the cause of death.
