Pauline Gaston came through with her best game of the conference, sparking the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers to their first win in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference — a straight-sets conquest of the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-9, 25-16, 25-23, at the Playtime FilOil Center in San Juan City on Thursday, October 23.
With Chery Tiggo determined to end its early slump, the Negrense Gaston delivered a composed yet fiery performance, scoring 10 points built on crisp attacks and solid floor defense.
More than her numbers, it was her leadership and energy that set the tone for the Crossovers, who finally broke through after a string of heartbreaking losses.
Import Yunieska Robles-Batista led all scorers with 20 points.
Victonara Galang added 11 markers.
However, it was Gaston’s presence that anchored the team’s chemistry and lifted the morale of the entire roster.
The Crossovers dominated the first two sets with balanced offense and steady reception, then fended off a late Galeries Tower rally in the third to seal the sweep and improve to 1-3.
For the Highrisers, Ivy Perez and Dimdim Pacres paced the team with seven points each.
Import Jelena Cvijovic struggled anew with just six.
Still without starting setter Julia Coronel for the second straight match, Galeries Tower remained winless at 0-4./ASC, WDJ
