SJI Falcons compete in Shakey’s girls volley

The St. John’s Institute (SJI)-Bacolod Falcons are set to compete in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League at the St. Benilde Gymnasium, La Salle Greenhills in Mandaluyong City.

The Falcons are up for a tough challenge as they were bracketed with the National University Nazareth School Lady Bullpups, the Far Eastern University Lady Baby Tamaraws, the University of the Philippines Junior Fighting Maroons, and the University of Santo Tomas Junior Golden Tigresses.

Bannering the Falcons roster are Caera Celis, Martheena Echarri, Marteena Ferrer, Andrea Gison, Antonella Jayobo, Amber Lobaton, Keyanna Palic, Marita Rondez, Beatrice Tamayo, Therese Tad-y, Lexi Tiu, Gabrielle Yanson, Rihanna Yee, Samantha Young, and Samantha Zapata.

Serving as the Falcons’ head coach is Ralph Savellano.

Patrick Dama and Rene Gaspillo will serve as assistant coaches, John Gomez as trainer, and Bitoy Yee as team manager.

The Falcons are one of the two Bacolod City-based teams in the competition aside from the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts, who will commence their campaign after their stint in the 2025 Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Norte./ASC, WDJ
