The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is making its services more accessible to residents in the southern part of Negros Occidental with the opening of its district office in Sipalay City.
The 226-square-meter LTO Sipalay City District Office building located in Barangay Gil Montilla was inaugurated on Tuesday, March 18, and will serve not only clients in Sipalay, but also from the municipalities of Cauayan, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Candoni and the city of Kabankalan.
In a statement yesterday, Bacolod City 6th District Representative Mercedes Alvarez said the building was constructed and funded by the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways under Republic Act 11156, which she authored.
“We will continue our efforts in bringing government services closer to the people,” she said.
Alvarez also acknowledged the support and assistance of the LTO and the Department of Transportation, as well as the city government of Sipalay.
In a separate statement, the LTO-Western Visayas (LTO-6) said the opening of the Sipalay office is a “significant step in its mission to deliver unparalleled public service, foster stronger communities, and enhance road safety across the region.”
LTO-6 Regional Director Gaudioso Geduspan II likewise acknowledged the crucial role of collaboration among the stakeholders in the realization of the project.
“Bringing essential services closer to the people is vital for improving accessibility and ensuring more efficient service delivery,” he said.
According to the LTO, the establishment of the Sipalay District Office is aligned with the agency’s “Stop the Road Crash” campaign, which focuses on reducing road accidents through improved services, awareness programs, and safety measures.
“With this new district office, the LTO-6 aims to strengthen its presence in Negros Occidental, paving the way for safer roads and contributing to the government’s vision of more connected and secure communities.” (PNA)
