Negrense Samjosef Belangel and the Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus bowed to the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters, 73-68, in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) at the Daegu Gymnasium on Monday night, March 17.

The former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles guard finished with a team-high of 16 points, five steals, three rebounds, and three assists.

However, the Pegasus dropped to a 24-22 win-loss record.

“The schedule has been tough lately,” Pegasus head coach Kang Hyuk said after the game.

“Because it was physically difficult, we couldn’t play the defense we prepared, and we relied on individuals a lot,” he said.

“Still, the players had the will to try and win. I’m satisfied that they didn’t give up at home and did their best. Rather, I feel sorry that I couldn’t make necessary adjustments,” he added.

Johnny O’Bryant top-scored for the Red Boosters with 26 points.

Deonte Burton and Park Ji-hoon added 17 and 10 points, respectively, while Javi Gomez de Liaño contributed four points as they improved to a 19-27 record.

Andrew Nicholson finished with 15 points, five rebounds and two steals for the Pegasus.

Jeong Seong-woo and Kim Jun-il added 13 and 11 markers, respectively./ASC, WDJ
