Police in Negros Oriental have seized more than P1.4 million worth of shabu and arrested over 700 individuals over various offenses during enhanced anti-criminality operations.
Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), said yesterday that during the enhanced anti-criminality operation, police arrested 11 persons and seized 208.90 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.420 million and 2.3 grams of marijuana valued at around P276.
Citing a consolidated report his office received yesterday from various police units in the province, Polinar said a “high-value” drug personality was among those arrested during the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations from February 21 to 23.
During this period, various police units in the province conducted 13 operations against illegal gambling with 34 persons arrested, and 49 operations against wanted individuals with 49 arrested persons, including six on the “most wanted” list.
The police also conducted 31 operations against illegal firearms, resulting in the confiscation/surrender of 33 loose firearms.
Meanwhile, a total of 638 persons were apprehended for violating various ordinances, Polinar said. (PNA)
