A sweeping anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) has resulted in the confiscation of P11.76 million worth of illegal substances and the arrest of 111 individuals across the region.
The weeklong campaign, spanning from February 10 to 16, led to the seizure of 1,729 grams of suspected shabu and 57 grams of marijuana in 87 coordinated operations regionwide.
Among those apprehended, 19 were identified as high-value targets, while 92 were classified as street-level offenders.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office recorded the highest drug haul, confiscating P4.7 million worth of illegal substances and making 18 arrests.
It was followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with P2.8 million worth of drugs seized and 20 arrests.
Meanwhile, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for P1.9 million in confiscated drugs and recorded the highest number of apprehensions, with 46 arrests — constituting 41.44 percent of the total suspects detained.
PRO-6 director Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky praised the dedication of the Drug Enforcement Units and their commanders for their steadfast efforts in the region’s ongoing battle against illegal drugs.
“Maintain the momentum and intensify our campaign further. Alongside our aggressive operations, we must also strengthen collaboration with stakeholders to sustain our fight,” Wanky urged.
