A total of 2,677 police personnel from the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) and national support units (NSUs) took oath as they were promoted to the next higher rank during a ceremony at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.
Among those promoted were 2,562 organic officers from PRO-6 and 115 personnel from NSUs.
Leading the list were 17 newly promoted lieutenants and eight captains from the regional office, and 16 lieutenants and 11 captains from NSUs.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, in his message, enjoined the newly-promoted personnel to be at the forefront in bringing the PRO-6 on TOP (Technology-Oriented Policing), the new strategic direction of the regional office.
“We are definitely setting the bar of our performance and service higher because if we don’t, we are putting ourselves in danger of complacency and mediocrity,” he said.
Wanky described the promotion as both a recognition of past achievements and a challenge to further serve the organization.
“This promotion signifies two things: A reward for good performance and a testament to your potential for greater service,” he said. (PNA)
