A formal charge has been filed against an employee of the Bacolod City government following allegations of involvement in illegal processing of documents at the city hall last year.
City Legal Office head Karol Joseph Chiu said a male regular employee alleged to be acting as a fixer, has already been charged with grave misconduct.
The City Legal Office is now awaiting Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’s signature on the formal charge document.
Meanwhile, a show-cause order has been issued to an employee from the City Treasurer’s Office – License Division.
The employee is accused of engaging in unauthorized transactions with business owners to facilitate the processing of their business permits.
Chiu emphasized that such activities are not part of the responsibility of these employees, and receiving commissions or payments for these services is strictly prohibited for government workers./WDJ
