Negrense Samjosef Belangel returned from a one-game absence as the Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus walloped the Wonju DB Promy, 84-61, in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) at the Daegu Gymnasium on Saturday, January 11.
The former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles star finished with 15 points, including two three-point conversions, to go with three rebounds and two assists, as the Pegasus improved to a 16-11 win-loss slate.
“If I were to evaluate my performance, my play was unstable due to minor injuries and cold weather. It’s something I need to improve,” Belangel, who was previously sidelined with an ankle injury, said.
“Since the team maintained such a good atmosphere in the first round, it’s important to find a way to do that, and it’s especially important to find my role,” the former Gilas Pilipinas guard added.
Kim Nak-hyun top-scored for the Pegasus with 24 points, including six outside baskets.
Lee Dae-heon added 18 markers, while Youssopha Ndoye contributed a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds in the win.
Ethan Alvano finished with 17 points, while Chinanu Onuaku added a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, as the Promy dropped to a 13-14 win-loss slate in the standings./ASC, WDJ
