The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts clinched the crown in the secondary girls volleyball tournament of the Bacolod City Division Meet at the Montalbo Gym in Bacolod City on Wednesday, January 8.
Led by Most Valuable Player and Best Open Hitter Rhose Vianne Almendralejo, the Thunderbolts (Unit 5) cruised to a 25-10, 25-10, 25-11 straight-set victory over Medalla (Unit 4) in the finals.
Czarina Dosayla was the Best Open Hitter and Best Server, while Camila Amor Bartolome and Brianna Ang were named Best Middle Blockers.
Alexa Bertolano was also named as Best Opposite Hitter, Rhea Tomas as Best Libero, and Jan Rose Bulak as Best Setter.
Also part of the Thunderbolts squad are Joenil Anne Ramos, Ana Hermosura, Abigael Labajo, Caitlyn Espinosa, and Edz Karylle Escultura.
Serving as head coach is Ian Macariola, while Jose Montalbo is the team manager.
“It’s a huge feat for us because it is just the first time that Bacolod Tay Tung has swept the individual awards in the secondary girls volleyball division,” Montalbo said.
Up next for the Thunderbolts is the Provincial Meet scheduled from January 29 to February 2./ASC, WDJ
