Kai Sotto registered another double-double to help the Koshigaya Alphas take down the Shiga Lakes, 88-78, at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena.
Their sweep of Shiga allowed the Alphas to improve to 8-18 in the 2024-2025 B.League Division 1, though they remain in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Sotto had another strong game, making six of his 10 field goals for 18 points on top of 12 rebounds and two blocks in a 36-minute stint.
The Filipino big man helped Koshigaya stay in control in the fourth quarter, knocking down two free throws to make it 75-69 with six minutes left after Shiga came within four points.
Shiga would come within two points, 77-75, off a triple by Taiki Okada, but Shun Matsuyama knocked down the big buckets in the closing stretch to keep the Alphas afloat.
Sotto also had a double-double in Koshigaya’s 89-62 rout of Shiga, with 16 points and 14 rebounds to go along with three blocks.
For the season, he is averaging 14.5 points, 10 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while starting 23 of Koshigaya’s 24 games. (ABS-CBN News)
