Negrense football player Janrick Soriano has passed away at the age of 36 due to an illness.
The death of the Negros Occidental’s Talisay City native booter was confirmed through a post by his former football team, the Kaya Futbol Club.
“A piece of our Kaya family is gone, but your memory will never fade. Through the highs and lows, you shared the field with us, fought by our side and never gave up,” the Kaya team wrote.
“More than that, you played with heart and passion and lived with purpose. Rest in peace, Janrick,” the statement said.
“May you continue to enjoy playing the beautiful game from above,” it added.
Soriano started his professional football career with Global FC in 2011 before he transferred to Pachanga FC and later to the Kaya Futbol Club, where he ended his career in 2021.
The Negrense booter has since focused on coaching in Bacolod City before his sudden passing./ASC, WDJ
