A member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) was stabbed to death at Barangay Sta. Rosa in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town on Wednesday morning, January 1.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Genno Garcia, while the suspect was 33-year-old Reynaldo Aguisan Jr., both residents of Purok Cubay.

Murcia police chief Major Sherwin Fernandez said the two had a fight before the incident.

Their altercation began over a heated argument regarding the loud noise from Garcia’s motorcycle exhaust.

Witnesses reported that the two men engaged in a verbal dispute that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.

Despite efforts to pacify them, the situation deteriorated rapidly.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that Aguisan drew a knife and allegedly stabbed Garcia multiple times before fleeing the scene.

He was rushed to the Murcia Health Unit for medical attention but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Local authorities launched an immediate manhunt against the suspect./JB, WDJ
