The Bacolod City of Smiles denied that they are conducting any tryouts for the team they will set up for the 2025 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season.

In a statement on Saturday night, December 21, the team management said they are not connected to the Bacolod Fry Fyter squad that held tryouts in Negros Occidental over the weekend.

“Please be advised that we are not connected to, nor affiliated with, any groups or pages that may be circulating information about the Bacolod team,” the squad said.

“Any announcements or information about tryouts or team-related activities made outside this official page should be disregarded,” the team added.

The Bacolod City of Smiles had a forgetful campaign in the 2024 MPBL Season, where they won just one of their 28 matches./ASC, WDJ
