Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido escaped Matthew Wright and the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in a close encounter in the 2024-2025 Season of the Japan B.League.
Ramos had a stellar 20-point, two-block performance for Levanga as they defeated the Brave Thunders, 84-83, at the Kawasaki Todoroki Arena last Sunday, December 15.
This moved them up to eighth place in the Eastern Division as they now possess an 8-13 record after 21 games.
Wright also had a strong game against his fellow Filipino import, putting up 26 markers, five boards and four dimes, but it was all put to waste as they fell to 4-17 in the team standings, eighth in the central division.
Meanwhile, AJ Edu and Nagasaki Velca moved up to ninth place in the Western Division after their latest victory against the Shiga Lakes, 83-73.
Edu was quiet, only posting six markers, five boards and three blocks, but these were enough as they climbed up to 9-12 in their division.
On the other hand, Kai Sotto’s latest double-double only fell short of leading the Koshigaya Alphas to a victory.
The 7-foot-3 ace tallied a 12-point, 12-rebound game together with a block and an assist, but they faltered against San-en NeoPhoenix, 89-86.
This was their 15th loss in 21 games, and they are now sitting in seventh place in the Eastern Division.
Ray Parks, Jr. and Osaka Evessa also were on the losing end last Sunday as they were dominated by Utsunomiya Brex, 95-76.
Parks Jr. only had four markers, five boards and two assists in the loss that put them at No. 3 in the Western Division with an 11-10 record.
Lastly, Geo Chiu and the Ehime Orange Vikings’ woes continued after they were trumped by Kagoshima Rebnise, 102-77.
He played for five minutes in the loss that brought them down to 1-22, seventh in the Western Division, but he went blank on the floor. (ABS-CBN News)
