Western Visayas anti-drug operatives confiscated over P10.2 million worth of suspected shabu during an intensified operation, the Police Regional Office said on Thursday, December 12.
The 24-hour operation started at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10 until 5:59 the following day and yielded approximately 1,206 grams of illegal drugs with an estimated market price of P8.2 million.
The operations also resulted in the arrest of 19 suspects.
“Of the number of arrests, four are tagged as high-value individuals and fifteen are street-level individuals,” the PRO-6 said in a statement.
The Negros Occidental Police Office netted the biggest volume of suspected illegal drug confiscation, reaching P5.7 million, followed by Iloilo City Police Office with P2.4 million.
On the afternoon of December 11, the Pavia Municipal Police Station-Drug Enforcement seized around 300 grams of shabu worth P2.04 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pagsangaan, Pavia.
A high-value individual identified only as Manong, a resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City and alias Lyn of Sibulan, Negros Oriental, was arrested.
All suspects are under police custody and facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
