The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) reported yesterday that it seized more than P2.9 million worth of suspected shabu during the 24-hour operations launched by various police units since 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20.

The region-wide operations also led to the arrest of 12 individuals.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reported the highest accomplishment with P1.7 million.

The biggest haul came from a jobless resident in Barangay Balabag in Pavia town who yielded P1.36 million worth of illegal drugs. The rest came from other operations.

The Iloilo City Police Station, on the other hand, reported a recovery of P1.25 million of suspected shabu in five separate operations.

PRO-6 Director Brigadier General Jack Wanky, in a statement, commended the intensified efforts of all units across the region to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs.

“These accomplishments are the result of the collective effort of the community, other law enforcement agencies, and the police,” Wanky said. (PNA)
