The number of registered voters in Negros Oriental for the May 2025 midterm elections increased slightly compared to the 2022 polls, according to data from the Commission on Elections-Negros Island Region (Comelec-NIR).
Records from Comelec-NIR show that Negros Oriental now has 978,643 registered voters, up by 46,604 from the 932,039 voters recorded in the 2022 national and local elections.
The final list of registered voters was confirmed after an on-site verification conducted by a Comelec central office team from November 1 to 9.
The data also reflect a total of 3,070,100 registered voters in the entire NIR, encompassing the provinces of Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental and Siquijor.
Negros Occidental has 2,009,564 registered voters, Negros Oriental has 978,643, and Siquijor has 81,893.
The newly formed NIR includes 1,353 villages with 3,922 clustered precincts and 1,430 voting centers. (PNA)
