The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) proposed the establishment of three additional police stations to strengthen peace and order in the city.
BCPO director Colonel Joeresty Coronica presented the plan to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Monday, November 4, requesting the establishment of new stations in key areas with high population densities.
According to Coronica, the proposed police stations will be built in Barangays Vista Alegre, Banago and Estefania.
These areas were identified due to their large residential populations, which would benefit from increased police presence.
During the meeting, Coronica planned to relocate Police Station 3 in Barangay Mandalagan to further enhance accessibility and response times.
In addition to the new police stations, Coronica appealed to Benitez to allocate additional patrol cars and other resources necessary for the operation of these new facilities.
The police director also proposed the installation of additional closed-circuit television cameras in public areas, as well as requiring commercial establishments to set up their own surveillance systems.
This is part of the BCPO’s ongoing efforts to enhance security and monitor public spaces more effectively.
The proposals are aimed at reinforcing law enforcement capabilities in the city, and ensuring a safer environment for residents./JB, WDJ
