The Bacolod City government issued special permits to almost 250 vendors selling flowers in various areas across the city during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Areas opened for flower vendors until November 2 include Gonzaga, Araneta, and Gatuslao Streets in the downtown area, the Libertad and Burgos public markets, and outside the Bacolod City public cemetery on Burgos Street.

In the past years, flower vendors were allowed to sell around the public plaza, but with the extension of the MassKara Festival until yesterday, they were allowed to occupy the roadside in the adjacent areas.

“We decided to transfer the location of the flower vendors with the approval of the City Council,” City Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said.

A special permit fee of P400 is required for the vendors to sell from October 28 to November 2.

Among those with permits, 105 have set up stalls along Gonzaga Street, 82 outside the city public cemetery, and 60 along Libertad Street, data from the city government showed. (PNA)
