At least 250 police officers from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will be deployed to ensure peace and security for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1 and 2.
BCPO director Colonel Joeresty Coronica said they will remain on full alert beginning today until Saturday, November 2.
Full alert indicates that all police personnel cannot go on leave on the said dates, he added.
Coronica said they will monitor all 14 cemeteries in Bacolod, including public and private burial grounds.
Police Assistance Desks will be established near cemeteries, he added.
Furthermore, the public is reminded that sharp objects, gambling, alcoholic beverages, and loud objects are prohibited inside cemeteries.
The police director also emphasized the importance of cooperation and adherence to regulations among residents.
Coronica is also urging them to avoid posting their current locations on social media to deter potential theft.
Meanwhile, 1,900 police personnel will be deployed in Western Visayas to secure cemeteries across the region for the observance.
In a radio interview, Colonel Arnel Solis, Police Regional Office in Western Visayas spokesperson, said the BCPO will remain on alert for Undas following the 45th MassKara Festival last week.
Besides cemeteries, they will conduct monitoring of seaports and airports for the expected exodus of travelers starting today until Sunday, November 3./JB, WDJ
