Authorities confiscated P3.3 million worth of suspected shabu from a 33-year-old woman during a drug buy-bust operation at Purok Tangkong in Bacolod City’s Barangay 7 on Saturday morning, October 19.

Danelyn Lopez, a high-value individual and a resident of the said place, was arrested after she yielded suspected illegal drugs weighing 475 grams.

Police Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said the seized illegal drugs were believed to have originated from Luzon.

Lopez was under probation for a previous drug offense, Benitez said, adding that the suspect allegedly returned to the illegal drug trade.

Also recovered from Lopez were P2,000 marked money, a digital weighing scale, and P300.

Lopez is currently in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./JB, WDJ
