The 2nd Mayor Albee Benitez Beach Volleyball Tournament is expected to propagate and further promote the sport of volleyball in Bacolod City.

According to Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Director Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa, they are delighted that at least 91 squads have joined the tournament.

“It will be nine days of exciting beach volleyball action,” Gamboa said.

“And we expect this tournament to further propagate volleyball in line with our program and vision in the PNVF,” she added.

The tournament has already started with the first two days of the 17-and-under men’s and women’s competition over the weekend, and it will continue on October 18 to 20.

On the other hand, the open categories for men and women are slated from October 21 to 24.

All matches will be held at the University of St. La Salle Sandbox in Bacolod.

The champion team will bring home P10,000.

The losing finalist gets P7,000, while the third and fourth placers bag P4,000 and P2,000, respectively./ASC, WDJ
