The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta claimed its fourth victory in the NCAA Season 100 tournament after dealing San Sebastian College-Recoletos its fourth straight loss, 60-52, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
Coming into the match, coach Olsen Racela knew the Stags were raring to bounce back. And with that in mind, he cautioned his wards from relaxing as they were also approaching the game with a win.
“Well, ‘yung sinabi namin sa pre-game that you know, San Sebastian is coming off [three] straight losses and sinabi namin na, for sure, gusto nilang bumawi, and kami naman galing sa panalo. Ang tendency is mag-relax ka eh,” Racela said.
“Sa practice pa lang, sinasabihan ko na sila, ‘Importante ‘yung approach namin in every game,'” he added.
The Altas pretty much kept the lead for themselves the whole game, holding off the efforts of the Stags to stage a return.
Christian Pagaran led the offense of the Altas, flirting with a double-double of 12 points and nine rebounds, while Cedrick Abis also registered 12 markers.
Rafael Are, meanwhile, topped the scoring for the Stags with 11 points.
Perpetual now embraces a 4-2 win-loss card while woes continue to pile up for San Sebastian after dropping to 2-4. (ABS-CBN News)
