Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has offered a P50,000 reward for residents who could provide information leading to the capture of the suspects involved in Nicus Balagosa’s murder.
“Those with information are urged to contact the nearest police station or the Bacolod City Police Office [BCPO] directly,” BCPO director Colonel Joeresty Coronica said in a statement yesterday.
“Rest assured, all information shared will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” he added.
The reward is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to ensure swift justice for the murder of the 20-year-old student.
“A warrant of arrest has been issued for two suspects: Carlito Tongo, also known as Dondon, and Jonathan Tongo, also known as Athan. Both suspects are still at large, and the BCPO is intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend them,” Coronica said.
“Justice for Balagosa and his family remains a top priority,” he added.
The BCPO assures the public that all efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Grade 11 student Nicus Balagosa was shot to death inside his house in Bacolod City’s Barangay Granada on June 2.
The suspects forcibly entered the room and shot Balagosa multiple times.
Days after the murder, Benitez urged the killers to surrender or else the full force of the law would be used against them./WDJ
