Sharing the success of the MOA Signing, Ribbon Cutting, and Official Turnover of LWUA’s “Catch Me I’m Falling: Rainwater Catchment Project” at Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

The effort was a pilot project aimed at enhancing water resource management in the community. All over the country, only 5 local water districts were chosen for the initial implementation and amongst the lucky 5 was BACIWA.

The event was graced personally by LWUA Chairperson Ronnie Ong, LWUA Advocate Ms. Angel Aquino, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, Punong Barangay Nogi Vito and Council, alongside BACIWA BODs Rich Ann Zayco and
Clarissa Araneta.

Also present were LWUA representatives, Brgy. Granada SK Council and the working force of the water district.

This innovative project by LWUA aims at addressing water scarcity, improving water management, and mitigating the effects of extreme weather events in our community.

The project was funded by the Office of LWUA Chairperson Ronnie Ong and was supported by BACIWA by providing the roofing for the catchment project.

GM Mona Dia Jardin with the permission of Chairman Ong, plans to replicate the said project to the different barangays as part of BACIWA’s CSR Activities.

LWUA representatives also visited BACIWA’s Office after the program.
