The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bacolod City is planning to file child abuse charges against the mother of Grade 10 student Pearl Joy Galve, who was found dead on August 14, if she fails to cooperate with their investigation.

NBI-Bacolod chief Manuel Fayre said the information Jennifer Galve provided to them in the investigation was unconvincing.

Fayre said she might be withholding crucial details about the killing.

He stressed the importance of questioning Jennifer again to uncover the true circumstances surrounding her daughter’s murder.

For now, Fayre described the case as encountering a blank wall.

Authorities have not yet identified any individuals related to the case.

Earlier, Bacolod City Police Station 9 gathered new evidence in the murder of Pearl Joy, a student from Sum-ag National High School.

Station commander Captain Michael Tuburan did not disclose specific details of the evidence which had been handed over to the La Carlota City Police Station and the NBI, which are handling the case.

An autopsy revealed that Pearl Joy succumbed to multiple injuries to the head, neck, chest, abdomen, waist, arms, and legs, indicating that she was beaten.

La Carlota police chief, Colonel Lymel John Pasquin, said it is still unconfirmed whether the victim was raped, but there is a possibility of sexual assault.

Galve was found in a state of decomposition at Hacienda San Roque in La Carlota’s Barangay Cubay./JB, WDJ
