The six-month campaign of the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6) since the assumption of regional director Brigadier General Jack Wanky, from February 15 until August 14 this year, yielded 3,057 wanted persons.

He also acknowledged the support from the community, local government units, and other law enforcement agencies.
PRO-6 data showed that for the said period, various units regionwide conducted 2,903 police operations.
The report said that of the total apprehensions, 466 are the most wanted persons (MWP), and 2,591 are other wanted persons.
“On the most wanted persons, one belongs to the national level, 68 are classified as regional, 97 provincial and city level and 300 were station level,” it said.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office has the highest number of arrested persons, reaching 1,313, equivalent to 42.95 percent of the total arrests.

Wanky added that security preparations and efforts against wanted persons are enhanced, especially with the upcoming elections where there could be possible concerns. (PNA)
