The San Miguel Beermen (SMB) found answers in the second half to clinch their second win in PBA Season 49.

The Beermen tallied their second win in this conference by dumping the Blackwater Bossing, 128-108, in their Governors’ Cup battle at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, August 25.

Jordan Adams was the Beermen’s main answer this time around as he erupted for 50 points on top of 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals, and he also scored 16 of his 50 pieces in the pivotal third period.

“We didn’t play San Miguel basketball in the first half,” said SMB head coach Jorge Gallent in the postgame presser.

“We didn’t share the ball. Everyone wanted to score, and that wasn’t how we wanted to play.”

Also doing wonders for San Miguel were CJ Perez, who had 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists, June Mar Fajardo, who had 13, Jericho Cruz, who contributed 12, and Kris Rosales and Vic Manuel, who each finished with 10.

After the Beermen trailed by 10 early in the third, 63-53, the perennial league powerhouse rediscovered their form later in the same frame and charged a 16-to-2 rampage which was ended by a four-pointer by CJ Perez.

SMB then banked on this momentum and even led by as much as 21 after Fajardo sank a three-pointer in the fourth, and this was more than enough for them to remain unbeaten in two games while also keeping the Bossing winless in three contests.

Troy Rosario delivered 25 points and six rebounds for the Bossing, who competed without an import after they parted ways with Ricky Ledo.

Meanwhile, Sedrick Barefield backstopped Rosario with 16, and also doing their best were James Kwekuteye, Jewel Ponferada and Christian David, who had 11, 11 and 10, respectively. (ABS-CBN News)
