A teenage girl was found dead in the sugarcane plantation at Barangay Cubay’s Hacienda San Roque in Negros Occidental’s La Carlota City yesterday morning.

Police identified the victim as 15-year-old Pearl Joy Galve, a resident of Bacolod City’s Barangay Sum-ag.

She was found to be in an advanced state of decomposition.

Galve, a Grade 10 student from Sum-ag National High School, has been reportedly missing since July 29, police said.

Wearing a white t-shirt, shorts and shoes, she was discovered by a worker from the hacienda on the plantation, approximately 700 meters from the main road.

The investigation is ongoing as police uncover the motive behind the incident./WDJ
