Negrense center Henjz Gabriel “Kobe” Demisana has departed the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles after one year, and will reportedly transfer to the Adamson University Falcons.
According to a report by the All-Star Magazine website, the Negros Occidental’s Pontevedra-native center was forced to leave the Blue Eagles camp as he did not meet the Ateneo’s required QPI for student-athletes.
“Demisana chose Adamson as his next stop as he feels this is the best place for him to develop as a basketball player,” stated in an online report written by Naveen Ganglani on Monday, July 29.
The 6-foot-8 Demisana joined the Blue Eagles last year, and has suited up for the school in pre-season tournaments, but he was not lined up for UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament.
Demisana was a former standout of the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts before he forced his way out of school to join the University of the Philippines (UP) Integrated School.
In his one-and-done year with the Junior Fighting Maroons two years ago, the 19-year-old Demisana averaged 17.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.1 blocks, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 steals in the contests.
The Negrense center was being recruited by other UAAP teams, like the UP Fighting Maroons, the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, and the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, but he chose to join the Blue Eagles./ASC, WDJ
