The new director of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) vowed a safe and secure Bacolod.

BCPO director Colonel Joeresty Coronica assumed office yesterday, following a turnover of command at the headquarters of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6).

Coronica said he observed the rampant crimes in Bacolod.

He said he has already devised a plan to tackle the cases, assuring Bacolodnons that he will put his strategies into action to make a significant impact.

Coronica emphasized his commitment as the new city police director, saying he would work tirelessly to ensure security in the city.

As former director of the Iloilo City Police Office, Coronica said he will continue his efforts to address crimes in Bacolod, which he previously tackled during his stint in Iloilo.

He replaced BCPO director Colonel Noel Aliño, who was reassigned to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) effective July 19.

Aliño will take over as CIDG head, replacing Colonel Joel Manuel Apelo Ana, who had been assigned to PRO-6.

Aliño was the former director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, and station commander of the Manila Police District./JB, WDJ
