A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was allegedly stabbed to death by her live-in partner at Barangay Talaban in Negros Occidental’s Himamaylan City on Friday, July 19.

Himamaylan police chief, Colonel Anthony Grande, identified the victim as 29-year-old Rose Ann Gahito.

Grande said Gahito went to the house of her 32-year-old live-in partner, as she was allegedly stabbed by the suspect using a jungle knife.

She succumbed to stab wounds in the stomach, neck and chest.

Gahito was rushed to a hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival.

An initial police investigation showed that Gahito and her live-in partner went to the barangay hall to discuss the custody of their three children, hours before the incident.

However, city police were unaware if the former OFW from Saudia Arabia, and the suspect argued before the alleged stabbing.

Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested inside his house on Saturday, July 20.

Murder charges were filed against the live-in partner./WDJ
