Strong Group Athletics-Philippines cruised past the BSBL Guardians to remain spotless in the 43rd William Jones Cup.

SGA recorded a 91-69 win on Sunday, July 14, in Taipei to tally their second straight victory in as many games, and leading the way for them were Chris McCullough and Ange Kouame.

The former San Miguel Beermen import had 23 points and seven rebounds, while the former Gilas Pilipinas big man posted 16 markers, 10 boards and a block.

Also standing out for the Philippines were Tajuan Agee (14 points, four rebounds), Jordan Heading (nine points, two assists), and PBA draftees Dave Ildefonso (seven points, two assists, two steals), Caelan Tiongson (four points, 11 rebounds), and RJ Abarrientos (four points).

Meanwhile, Jesse Ghee (19 points, 10 rebounds), Atem Bior (14 points) and Angus Howey (12 points) led BSBL.

The Charles Tiu-coached squad opened the game in a strong manner and dominated right from the jump as they ended the first with a 34-10 advantage.

The squad continued with their dominance throughout the rest of the contest, with Rhenz Abando even delivering a poster alley-oop jam off an assist by Kiefer Ravena, and this eventually allowed them to remain at no. 1 in the standings.

The Philippines showed admirable effort on the offensive end by dishing out 23 dimes, and they also imposed their might on defense as they forced the Guardians to commit 18 turnovers while also putting up 14 steals. (ABS-CBN News)
